The Anambra State Association was formed in April of 1993, with the purpose of providing social and cultural support to members and their families resident in Southern California. The association is also to serve as a link between the Government of Anambra State, Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the people of Nigeria while at the same time maintaining a cordial relationship with our community in the United States of America.
As you navigate our site, you will see our collection of annual family activities aimed at building a culturally sensitive community and also provide a platform for social interaction for our families and the host community. Some of the activities include our annual picnic and Christmas party. Additionally, our children participate in our annual Career and Cultural Awareness Seminar aimed at preparing our children for the future and honoring our cultural heritage. This is the occasion where we award scholarships to deserving Anambra students that secured admission to college or vocational school each year.
Finally, we have participated in medical missions at various times in collaboration with our affiliate organization, Anambra State Association of United States of America, to different communities in Anambra State. We are still working on developing more impact programs that will benefit our people back home. I wish everybody good health in these uncertain times of global pandemics.
